Gift Wrap, Greetings Cards and Gift Stationery
As part of the group’s expertise in ‘ink on paper’, Swan Mill has far reaching expertise in cards and gift packaging to provide a full design led solution to the retailer.
For many years the group has supplied ‘private label’ to retailers in the UK and abroad and has manufactured rollwrap at the factory in South Wales since 2000.
With the strength of our design studio, and our manufacturing expertise, we now produce own brand greeting cards, gift packaging and accessories for many well known major retail groups.
In addition, the group owns the upmarket giftpackaging brand Penny Kennedy which offers licensed product from the likes of Emma Bridgewater and Sara Miller and can be found in premium retailers around the world.
Most recently, the group has bought two of the largest independent UK greetings card publishers: Ling Design and the Great British Card Company. These complimenting design led companies are run as two separate entities to offer full design scope to all sectors including major high street retailers, supermarkets, garden centres, independents and charities. We also export our ranges to over 30 countries around the world in both branded and own label offers.
Gift Wrap and Tags
For many years we have manufactured wrapping paper at our facility in South Wales , recently we have seen tremendous growth here, and now every year we makes enough wrapping paper to go at least once around the world .
2021 is an exciting time with the commissioning of another high speed state of the art printing press, bought for the increased demand we are experiencing from our UK and European retail customers.
All the giftwrap is designed by our UK design studio and much of the success is attributed to the quality of the designs along with the proactivity and professionalism of our gift wrap and accessories offer.
We have a wealth of experience to coordinate wrapping paper designs with bags, tags, tissue and cards to ensure you have the best offer from one source.
With the environment of prime importance, we use water based inks, recycle all waste, and constantly strive for increased energy efficiency.
All our paper is ethically sourced and FSC® certified, whilst we constantly look for ways to reduce packaging and improve our environmental footprint.

Greetings Cards
Now the proud owner of two leading greetings card publishers: Ling Design and the Great British Card Company (GBCC) , we can offer a full selection of designs for all markets, price points and occasions.
Offered by two separate sales forces and supported by our two studios these well known brands can be found on thousands of card racks through the UK and abroad.
Ling Design along with its well-known sub brands Talking Pictures, Rainbow and the contemporary Curious Inksmith epitomise stylish design led cards at all price points for the discerning consumer. Ling is sold to over 30 countries worldwide and has a very strong presence in the charity market . In addition it is well known for its Christmas boxed cards and large range of advent calendars.
GBCC has instantly recognisable brands such as Paperhouse, Almanac Gallery and the Humour Factory and is also a market leading licensor of designs, offering ranges from brands such as Medici, Avanti Press and a large number of humour artists.
GBCC also has a large gift stationery collection and a full range of wrapping paper and gift bags , allowing you to offer a wide coordinated range.
In addition, GBCC runs Waterwells, a full brokereridge service for our retailers. Working with 25 of the best UK publishers GBCC can manage your card space for you, ensuring you have the best mix and assortment of cards particular to your requirements. They remove the need for multiple sales visits, invoices and deliveries and can even offer a merchandising service whilst ensuring you get the ‘best of the best’ cards and the best return for your space.
